Expected outcomes and deliverables

Students will submit detailed project and implementation plans describing:

  • Project scope and objectives
  • Measurable impacts of implementing the project on your organizations
  • The optimal schedule and the resources required
  • Risk analysis results
  • Project budget.

To complete these plans, students will communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks. At the end, the work of each group will be presented in a +10-page document, accompanied by a 20-minute presentation. Organization representative(s) are invited to attend presentations.

Project Examples

Requirements

In groups of 4-5, Masters students with Business and IT Management backgrounds, will work with your organization to develop project and implementation plans for a project of your choosing.

Examples of project topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Improving business processes by implementing six sigma or lean strategies
  • Enhancing the performance of operational processes in manufacturing or healthcare systems
  • The feasibility study of a new technology adoption
  • Create scope / time / cost / risk management plans for an IT project
  • The role of technology adoption in the successful implementation of continuous improvement programs
  • Develop a new commercial website
  • Implementing a small construction project
