Based on your organizational goals, students will prepare a complex communications strategy for a business, not for profit, or government organization. Upon completion of the project, you will receive a detailed report.

Students will only be preparing the strategy - they will not be executing on the strategy.

The final project deliverables will include:

  • A detailed 5- to 8-page report including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations.
  • Optional: some students may be available to discuss their report with you after submission

Project Examples

Requirements

Students might work individually or with a partner to identify your communication needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis. Emphasis is placed on external communications.

Project activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing communication objectives
  • Outlining key messages appropriate for the sector and organization
  • Preparing a list of activities and target audiences
  • Preparing a budget and timeline for implementation;
  • Developing methods for measuring success.

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
