Details

WOWzer Technologies has a backup and restore application hosted on AWS with two additional backups of this data. Both are disconnected one is a snapshot, one is a duplicate. The data includes sensitive information.

We are a startup and do not have a disaster recovery plan in place. We would like a disaster recovery plan that we can test on a regular basis to ensure in the event of failure, hack or employee error, we can restore the data quickly and efficiently with little to no disruption of service.

Deliverables

Access AWS infrastructure and set up a test environment, duplicate of our existing environment. Access to our auxiliary backups to see how they are connected.

Create a disaster recovery, (DR) plan to ensure that we can respond to a disaster or other emergency that affects information systems and minimize the effect on the operation of the business. To include:

  1. Emergency response procedures in order to protect privacy and limit damage.
  2. Backup operations procedures to ensure that essential data processing operational tasks can be conducted after the disruption.
  3. Recovery actions procedures to facilitate the rapid restoration of a data processing system following a disaster.
  4. Identify the appropriate personnel who will test, monitor and implement the DR plan.
  5. Write a disaster action checklist that provides possible initial actions that we might take following a disaster.
  6. Recovery startup procedures for use after actual disaster

Mentorship

We are prepared to meet on a weekly basis for 30 to 60 minutes, one tech team representative and one marketing representative.

We started as an accounting and bookkeeping firm and realized that the system most accountants and bookkeepers were using had some shortcomings. First was an effective backup and restore service for Xero cloud accounting and then solving the age-old problem of tedious data entry. So we created software to solve these problems and are going to market very soon with your teams help.
