data analysisThrough this project, students will analyze performance data from the NHL and AHL 2017-18 regular season, as well each players specific salary amounts.
In doing so they'll identify high level trends, and possible inefficiencies among NHL programs.
Specific resulting statistical contexts will be:
- goals and points per dollar
- lost man games due to injury per doller
- shots per doller
- etc
The final goal of the project is to make available a deeper context of player evaluation based on performance per dollar
Specifically, a detailed report outlining trends identified, possible inefficiencies, and raw data that can be integrated into our user interface outlining every player in the 2017-18 NHL and AHL regular season performance in the context of their pay.
