The Centre for Career and Vocation is seeking student workers to help develop and expand resources and supports for our Indigenous student population, specifically within a career development framework. This project will include, but is not limited to:
- Research career development and academic resources for Indigenous students for the creation of an Indigenous student resource page on the CCV website.
- Create career development learning modules specifically for Indigenous students using the LMS (Moodle) to further support Indigenous student experience at CMU. This resource will also serve to fill gaps existing at CMU related to vocational exploration from an Indigenous perspective.
- Research and identify programs and resources that serve Indigenous individuals who might make good partners for CMU
- Draft recommendations for how the institution can better serve Indigenous students
Please note: This position is open to Indigenous-identifying applicants only
Key skills and experiences: ability to apply pedagogical principles in an online environment, strong understanding of issues facing Indigenous students, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This position will report to the Director of the Centre for Career and Vocation through email and Teams. Students can expect regular check in meetings, for the purposes of progress and mentorship, with their supervisor for the duration of the project.
