patient safety patient/family education mentorshipEngaging patients, and their families/caregivers, to speak up about their care and safety is an important aspect to improving patient safety. Using Canadian resources (ex. Health Excellence Canada, Patients for Patient Safety Canada, etc.) develop patient/family education on patient safety and how to speak up about concerns, as well as provide an implementation plan.
The anticipated result of this project will be to create education and develop an implementation plan. This will benefit the patients and their families as it relates to patient safety in the organization, as well as benefit students in their understanding of the principles/creation of education and an implementation plan, as well as learning about the role the patient/family play in patient safety.
Students would be expected to work towards the above outcomes and deliverables, reviewing the resources mentioned above, as well as meeting with Patient Safety Consultants to assist in mentorship/guiding the work. This can be done remotely
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
