Students should be prepared to:

  • Research the onboarding practices of competitors.
  • Research what onboarding components are most impactful for new employees.
  • Use benchmarking to determine wages, benefits and other forms of employee compensation.
  • Develop a HR policy manual that comes with a standardized onboarding plan that achieves our goals.

Bluethumb Technologies is a socially innovative financial technologies firm that provides innovative technological solutions to todays social problems. Our incorporated company has been in business for the past 18 months and we have made significant headway during that time period. We have worked with teams of students in both computer science and business to help our company grow to the point that it is now. We were recently awarded a $15,000 grant, which we have used to hire a PHD student to help build our proprietary loyalty integration technology as well as fully develop the Blueprint Loyalty Program prototype, which is expected to be completed in January/February of next year. We are also a stage 1 Propel Alumni company (https://www.propelict.com/) and we have just recently applied to Dalhousie Universities Creative Destruction Lab and we have been invited to interview week.
