University Canada West is a contemporary independent university located in the heart of vibrant Vancouver. Established in 2004, UCW offers a range of career-focused programs including the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, Associate of Arts and Master of Business Administration. Courses are offered at our downtown Vancouver campus and online too. Offering courses online brings flexibility to education, allowing those who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to gain respected qualifications.

Small Business Management

Students will work with a small business (client) throughout the term (10-week term starting on April 28th) and will do the following: 1. Organizational diagnosis 2. Project proposal 3. Revised proposal 4. Final project report and presentation How companies will benefit: This Experience is a capstone project/exit course for the UCW MBA students - meaning, the small business will get to work with the final term MBA students. Students already have diverse academic and professional experiences before joining the MBA program. It will be a great opportunity for a small business to work with the MBA students who will actively engage with and contribute to the small business from diagnosis of the problems/challenges to writing a proposal to executing a final project report and presentation. Students will focus on the connection among HR, finance, marketing, operations, and growth strategies for small businesses.
Strategic Marketing Management (Spring 2025)

Marketing Promotion Campaign Strategy (Spring 2025)

This semester students work on a detailed Integrated marketing communications (IMC) plan. They will critically analyze the current environment, company's strengths and weaknesses and a section on how to improve the company's promotional stance or solve a current marketing communication challenge. They will try to develop a Marketing promotional Plan to drive online traffic, customer leads and/or online sales. The students will use marketing research (secondary), strategy, digital promotional tools and marketing best practices to create a report and presentation. They will work in groups of 5 to 7 students but there is a chance to keep groups flexible.
Strategic Management (Spring 2025.1)

Looking to elevate your organization and bring it to the next level? Bring on graduate students from University Canada West to be your student-consultants to evaluate your organization's business strategy and to propose approaches to improve the firm's market position. Students will work on one main project over the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. The teams will apply their international and entrepreneurial knowledge as MBA students with critical analyses/strategies/design skills to develop ideas in your organization. The teams will complete an analysis, provide strategic recommendations and practical options, and recommend an action plan appropriate to your business situation in consultation with you. As a participating organization, you will provide a specific question, business issue/ challenge, or opportunity that will be the focus of the student team review.
