ENTP 3501: Business Essentials & Virtual Micro-Internship

Partner with students from ENTP 3501: Business Essentials & Virtual Micro-Internship summer program to tackle real-world business challenges. This 8-week, 3-credit course combines internship reflection with hands-on learning in Excel, marketing, and business analysis . Over approximately six weeks, teams of four to five students collaborate with companies to explore market entry, expansion, and revenue growth strategies . Employers gain fresh insights and actionable solutions while guiding students through a structured, data-driven approach. Organizations must meet the following criteria to participate: Provide a project that fits the duration (Monday, June 30th - Thursday, August 7th) and hour (8 hours per week per student; 48 hours total) requirements Agree to 2 meetings/week with student teams to ensure project progress Consist of a staff of at least three members (start-up founders are encouraged to apply if all other criteria can be met) Appoint a supervisor to support the project and fulfill experience requirements Develop a learning plan and set deliverables before the start of the project Attend the initial kick-off call before the project (Wednesday, June 18th; 4-5pm EDT) Be available to attend the final 30-min capstone presentation (Thursday, August 7th; 10:00am-12:30pm EDT) Complete a short rubric required for the project assessment If your project meets the minimum requirements, a Riipen UVA Admin team member will be in touch to schedule a 30 minute screening call. Once your project is screened, you will be invited to meet with a member of the UVA team before being matched to a student team.

Innovative Tech Consulting - Technology Strategy Group

Technology Strategy Group (TSG) at the University of Virginia is a student-led organization that fosters innovation, collaboration, and professional development among its undergraduate members. The club’s main objectives are to offer real-world project experience, enhance technical skills, and build meaningful connections with industry professionals. Starting in the spring semester, TSG members will work on software development, app development, and UX/UI design projects. The goal is for students to contribute to an organization's success by researching and developing software solutions, analyzing data, and exploring emerging technologies—. This will help organizations address complex challenges and optimize processes. Company Requirements: Provide a project that meets the 8-week timeline, starting in March. Be available for a 30-minute virtual meeting with the club leads to discuss the project scope and assess if it aligns with the experience. Develop a learning plan in collaboration with the team leads at the start of the project. Have a staff of at least three members (start-up founders are encouraged to apply if all criteria are met). Appoint a supervisor to support the experience and fulfill program requirements. Designate a primary contact person available for weekly or bi-weekly meetings to address learners' questions and provide updates during the project. Provide an alternate contact for TSG leads and Riipen administrators. Offer an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback. Provide any relevant information or data required for the project.

The program is overseen by the UVA Career Center and IPP faculty instructors, ensuring the quality of the internship experience. Internship placements can be virtual, hybrid, or in-person (Charlottesville, VA). Interns are interested in research, archival, policy and legal projects. All interns complete 10 hours per week over 15 weeks during their internship. The UVA Internship Placement Program begins with intern recruitment, selection, and preliminary matching to ensure partners receive the best possible intern for consideration. Private, public, non-profit, start-up, and community organizations across a diverse range of industries are represented in the IPP. Organizations must meet the following criteria to participate: Provide a project that fits the time requirements: 10 hours/week for 15 weeks (January to April) For in-person internships, offer interns a professional workspace that is not a home business location Consist of a staff of at least three members (start-up founders are encouraged to apply if all other criteria can be met) Appoint a supervisor to support the internship experience and fulfill program requirements Develop an internship learning plan with intern at the beginning of the internship  Complete the IPP performance evaluation process  Adhere to internship guidelines and requirements as dictated by the Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act Participate in Supervisor Orientation prior to the start of your first internship session If your project meets the minimum requirements, a Riipen UVA Admin team member will be in touch to schedule a 30-minute screening call. Once your project is screened, you will be invited to meet with a member of the UVA IPP team and requested to complete the intake form before being matched to a student.
